We invite you to be a part of this extraordinary opportunity to heal an original wound and work together to create a new story of healing and repair and a livable future for our children.
Kanerahtiio Roger Jock, a Kanien’kehá:ka leader from the Akwesasne Reserve, carries a vision of return for his people back to their ancestral lands in the Schoharie Valley of Central New York.
Kanerahtiio's work building a traditional Kanien’kehá:ka Longhouse has inspired people from all political stripes and backgrounds to come together to learn about the Great Law of Peace of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and support a model of restorative justice and community-supported land reparations.
Niawen to all of the beautiful people who have helped to bring this structure and symbol of peace to the Schoharie Valley. We put the first poles in the ground on September 13th, 2020 and have continued building and gathering community at the longhouse since then. We would love to see you again, give thanks and share some words and songs as we work together to build a new story of unity and hope at the Eastern Gate of Turtle Island.
